Easter Egger club!

Patchy coloring on the wings/shoulder area, well developed pinkish comb, and larger size compared to the rest of the chicks all point to cockerel. Sorry.

Yeag i noticed that it was bigger than the others that are the same age as well as the comb was already a pinkish red compared to the others whose havent really changed in color

This is olives comb if you can tell better if she is a rooster or hen

One of my EE hens is the LOUDEST hen I've ever heard!!! Seriously loud. She's also the protector of the flock since I don't have a Rooster. She lays the prettiest blue eggs though.

My EE roo is as sweet as a lamb with his humans and my EE girl is a timid little jumper who likes to be close but not touched, by anyone, human or chicken! I want another one but the personality is so varied, you never know what you'll get. These were raised together and got the same care and attention. Totally different result!

Okay here are some photos of my easter egger! Is olive a hen or rooster?

If your bird hasn't started to lay eggs yet her peacomb should be a pale pink. The cockerels will have a deeper color peacomb earlier than the girls. My avatar is 5-months-old and you can see her peacomb is very pale still. She didn't start laying until she was 7-months-old at which time her comb turned darker just before laying. When ours takes a break from laying sometimes for 6 months, her comb will go pale again.
