Easter Egger club!

Ok so I called the feed store that rehomes roosters but then I just couldn't do it. I still believe she is a she I just don't understand the crowing. I took the roost down from their run ( where she was crowing from yesterday)and she didn't make a peep this morning.
I was really stressed yesterday and overthinking everything. Our yards back up to woods and on a daily basis we have cardinals, blue jays, Hawks, osprey, seagulls, ducks and geese making noise not to mention the dogs. If My chickens cause such a ruckus that the HOA gets involved, I will sell them all and start from scratch when I move. I'm done stressing, now it's just time to start enjoying them again !!

Ooh, smart move with the roost! Maybe she wanted everyone to know she had the best spot. :) glad she's taking a break from her rooster practice.

I hope everything works out for you. I'm 99% sure that your bird is a pullet despite the crowing. I had a d'Uccle hen a few years ago that would crow every once and a while. She was a good layer and raised several clutches of chicks. Some hens will crow, though it's most common in older hens that are no longer laying. Are your EE pullets at the top of the pecking order?

I hope all works out too but I'll cross that bridge if and when necessary. There's actually no pecking order. I few chest bumps here and there but they all get along. My Orpington is more active but so far they are all pretty much equal

There is always a pecking order, even if they all get along. A peaceful flock just means that each bird has accepted their position in the order.

If they havent complained I really think you would be making a mistake by getting rid of one or both.:( They are not roosters,I really think you just try to wait it out just a little while. If you feel they will take your birds away, just talk to your neighbors. Do what you think is right.

"Astrid"? Ohhhh, if "Buttercup" ever starts crowing (and you can keep him) then you will just have to rename him Hiccup.!

Looks like Astrid is now Toothless and Butter cup is Hiccup.
They are 8 weeks now
