My Blue Wheaten Ameraucana (my avatar) related to EEs -- my Ameraucana's comb stayed very pale pink until well into her 5th-6th month before it turned red just before laying. Cockerels start getting red combs by 2-mo-old.
Here's a youtube video on how to tell a rooster from a hen in 2-month-old chicks and there's an EE pullet in the video:

Ah darn. Big head does have a lot of those rooster traits, so I gues she's really a he. Well, either way, I hope they pass on their fluffy cheeks genes to some more little chicks in the future!!

I guess i assumed big head was a girl since other hens that i have (i forgot what breed they are) also had the reddish waddles going on as well and didnt think too much about it.

I'm not having a very good year with my EE's. I hatched around 24 chicks, thinking worse case scenario I'd have around a half dozen pullets. I'm not 100% sure on all of them, but I think they are all cockerels.

So guess which chickie we chose as our last and final one?

Yup, an Easter Egger! Introducing Sophia. The final Golden Girl. She is interesting being so chocolate-colored!

Most breeds in males will have comb/wattles turning reddish by 2 months old. The females will be light pink and don't develop bright red combs/wattles until later close to their POL

So Rose is still the most stunning EE! Her white plumage is striking and she is the friendliest thing in the world! 8.5 weeks and loving life out in the coop and run.
