our little baby Blue has an awful scissor beak but is super happy and healthy. We've read that people file down their beaks but wasnt sure if it's completely necessary. We have no problem doing it, I just don't want to upset the baby if I don't have too. Here she is chilling with her peeps.

Hey, does anyone know which is dominant between the blue egg gene and the brown egg gene?

There are only 2 egg shell colors - blue and white. Blue shell gene is dominant. The brown is a coating that hen lays over shell b4 the bloom. The brown coating over the blue shell is what creates the various shades on the outside from blue to deep olive. i.e.: no brown makes true blue egg to heavy brown over blue shell makes the olive color on the outside. Check inside of egg shell for the true color. a very heavy bloom over brown give the pinkish color that goes from pink tint to near purple on the outside
