@Sylvester017

my camera is a Cannon, 16 mega pixels, power shot sx 400 IS
I got it for Christmas in 2014, so I'm sure there are better cameras on the market now.

Anything Canon is classic! We don't buy anything but Canon printers, copiers, cameras. My DD gifted me a nice Nikon point-&-shoot years ago and it's been fun but there's nothing more quality than Canon. There are costlier brands out there but Canon's been so versatile from consumer to professional. I discovered that mega pixels in DSLR cameras are larger than mp's in point-&-shoot cameras so there's more light and better quality in dslr photos. 16 mps in P&S cameras aren't the same as 16 mps in DSLRs. Just a bit of trivia I picked up in research. Honestly, I still think the way the user poses his subjects when he's comfortable with the operation of his own camera says more than the actual camera he's using. Your power shot proves it! I got occasional nice clear shots with my Nikon but it couldn't handle fast focusing or faster frame shots so that was my reason for finally upgrading after 6 yrs -- the darn hens didn't stay still long enough for my old Nikon to focus before they moved on!

@Sylvester017 Wow, I didn't know that there was a difference in megapixel size. The next time I'm in the market for a camera I'll be sure to look into that. I do enjoy taking pictures, and so far this particular camera has been the best one I've had. I have to play with the settings and angle a bit sometimes depending on the light, but it's fun.

Once you get comfortable with a camera it fits like an old shoe and you know how to compensate for its shortcomings and still manage great shots. That's how I felt about my Nikon until I got tired of its slow response. It's nice for family pics because it's lightweight but for moving chickens I finally had to upgrade to a faster-response camera.

My Wheaten Ameraucana's photo has a sharper focus while my easter egger's photo has a softer focus. Both are good pictures, but since I wanted the two photos to convey different feelings I focused differently for each shot. I am not a photographer, but I find it soothing to take pictures while hanging out with my chickens.
