Easter Egger club!

Jealous of you that have chicks already crowing. I have 3 Easter eggers that are almost 9 weeks old and a possible 3 Australorps. None of these guys have let out more than a peep yet. Was kinda looking forward to that first crow to let me know I'm really, really, really living out in the country again finally.

I went out last night and one of my EE hens, Ursula was walking around like a lethargic penguin

. Into a warm bath she went! Gave her a nice calcium drench and then stuck her in the bathroom with a space heater and some warm towels.

Not 30 minutes later she passed an egg and then proceeded to try and escape through the closed bathroom window.

Crises averted.

Omg I love those books. Read and listened to all 20 some? At least 3 times!
My babies are two weeks old and still doing great. Does their wing pattern/color now mean anything for the final feathers?

Can't wait till I can tell how many girls/boys I have. Only have room for one roo and thats pushing it as it is.

Still too young to tell. Give them, oh, about another hour or so and they'll be old enough XD

jk, but a week doesn't seem like a week when you're watching chicks wait til they start loosing their chick fuzz

I didn't believe Sis when she said that Babydoll crowed. At four weeks.

But the fact that our other rooster was living in his own private kennel may have had something to do with it.. XD

One of my EE's is bigger than the rest and tends to stand and move more upright (especially when there's something to see or some noise or cause for alarm) and is definitely the more dominant of the group. She's only about 1.5 weeks old, so I know it's too early to say whether she's actually a roo, but should I be taking these signals as signs she's a cockerel or will pullets have this personality/behavior too?

Aw, so pretty! Yes, still too young to make a sure decision, but we had/have a chick who looked almost exactly the same as that chick does now, and he is turning out to be a rooster. The aggression is definitely something to keep in mind, but in a few weeks it will become obvious if "it" is a he or a she
