Easter Egger club!

ALL my BSLs lay big eggs. Batgirl doesn't lay nearly as big anymore, in fact we're lucky to even get an egg from her these days, but she's earned her keep a long time ago

The other girl's eggs weren't as big as Batson's, but they were still up around 65-70 on a regular basis

I LOOOVE them so much. They've got cool personalities

BUT, enough talk of sexlinks on the EE clucb thread

I can do both at the same time!
I've got sexlink Easter Eggers.

Junior and Margret are black sexlinked Easter Eggers

And these are red sexlink Easter Eggers.

Amy's first egg! Today!! It's very light cream, almost white.
Well, tinge of pink I guess...

The pinkish eggs eventually get lighter as the pullet lays more eggs until they look almost cream. Her next laying cycle the eggs will probably start out pink again and gradually lighten to cream or whitish.

When can you usually tell the sex of the EE's? I have 2 that are about 4 wks old I believe, really hoping their girls

It varies a lot depending on the bird. Some of this years chicks I could tell were pullets by week 1. Others I was sure were roos, but thank goodness were hens  got one rooster. EXACTLY what we needed :yesss: watch for black chests, "scattered" coloring (a hen's feather color will/is usually a regular pattern), and dark patches on the wing "shoulders." :)
