Easter Egger club!

WHOA  that is one gorgeous bird! I just said this on another thread but... Easter Eggers are like a box of chocolates.. you never know what you’re gonna get!! Just when you think you’ve seen every color there is.. another color pattern shows up!!! They are truly remarkable!!!
That’s a great way to look at it. The more I reconsider this, the more excited I am to get EEs.

I dont know.if you can see it, but my baby chick, baby (my australorp, easter egger mix) has very faint barring like pattern.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard.. or read.. anything negative about them!
Ok, a little something here. They .... usually... take up to at least 9 months to start laying. Most of mine sadly followed the rule. Not all take a while to start, but most. And, that beauty pictured above...a real stinker. Didn't want to have anything to do with people. Had to pick her up this spring to trim feathers around her bottom...she got me good on my arm. Nice to look at though.

We love our Easter Egger girls :)

We have 6:
Lucky
Unlucky
Convict
Chicken Hawk
Hudson
Goldie

My daughter gave Lucky her name because she said that Lucky was the prettiest chick we got so she was lucky.

Similarly, Unlucky got her moniker because she was, in my daughter’s opinion, the ugliest chick we bought. She is my shadow and little buddy.

My husband named Chicken Hawk. He said her coloring reminded him of a Hawk.

Hudson’s name came from that old Bruce Willis movie Hudson Hawk. She is also kind and of a Hawk-like color.

Convict was always the first chick to try for a”jail break out” when they were in the brooder. She is our little escaped convict ;)

Goldie came with that name from her former owners. She is similar in coloring to my Unlucky but is more golden.

I will have to try for some pictures tomorrow because they are such pretty & diverse birds.
