I have an Easter Egger that is just over 14 weeks that I received as a substitute with my order from Murray McMurray Hatchery and I cannot decide if it is a hen or a rooster. I initially thought rooster, but now I am leaning towards hen. S/He does have what appears to be 3 "rows" for a pea comb, which all my others that are for sure roosters also had...but the hackle and saddle feathers make me think it is a hen. And the fact that s/he is 14 weeks and the comb is still small also has me leaning towards hen now.

Here is a pic from about 5 1/2 weeks:

And here's some from just over 14 weeks:

I'm a newbie but I just went through this with my EEs and Ameraucana and your chick looks like a roo to me.

Yah this poor chicken got picked on quite a bit there for a while so his/her tail feathers don't look very nice right now :(
I'm really, really hoping it does indeed end up being a hen :D It'll make my decision on which ones (roosters) go to the freezer a bit easier! ;)

Thanks everyone!
