There seems to be a common misunderstanding about how hatcheries breed their EEs. They breed EE to EE. The reason EEs aren't a breed is that there isn't a standard for them, not because they are a hybrid of an EE and something else or an Ameraucana and something else. And, since there is no standard, hatcheries are free to select for the traits they prefer. I suspect that productivity and egg color are at the top of the list, muffs are preferred, and standardized plumage is not even on the radar.

Thanks guys! I'm very much of a noob in the chicken world so thanks for telling me how unique she is. I've never realized it until now. I guess I got pretty lucky with my 2 EEs because, well.. Just take a look at this! I know it isn't rare, but I love the way she looks!
