Hi I was wondering, as the title suggests, how long will an Easter Egger live for? How many eggs do they lay per week and is it more often in the first couple of years? Are they really a breed that's more sensitive to shorter day lengths in Winter and will quit laying then? Thanks!

Some of my Easter eggers are currently 8 years old. They lay daily or every other day when they are pullets. As they age, they lay less per week but that is normal.

It's hard to say because the genetic background of EEs varies a lot, as different hatcheries/breeders use their own combination to create them, and that can vary between batches too. They are known for being erratic layers, however I guess I lucked out and my EEs have been my most consistent layers, laying later into fall/winter than the others and resuming earlier in spring.

We have two easter eggers a mix of lavender araucana and isa brown
1 has been laying small brown eggs for 2 months not missing a day
The second one just layed today for the first time a large bluish egg
so itll be interesting to see the consistency
We are in fall now but its pretty mild
