Easter egger pullet or roo?

Probably to early to tell. This bird is 4 weeks old. Thoughts? It’s got a red spot on its nose from another bird pecking it :/

Still trying to learn about sexing different breeds, but I thought this type of pattern was female specific. Is it not always?
Not when it hasn't gone through a juvenile molt. When looking at female patterns, they are only applicable when they are "big girl" feathers.
