I don't know either, but pretty baby! I have 4 EE (they were suppose to be Ameraucanas, I got duped). They're only 9 weeks old though. I was told to look at their comb, and I've been told mine are all definitely pullets. I would think the comb would be bigger by now if it was a roo though right?

I had a RIR roo that was 8wks and it was obvious he was a roo by then. I have a Buff Orpington and it was obvious by 8wks he was a roo too. He didn't start crowing until a little later (about 10wks) though.

We had a RIR that turned put to be a roo and we could tell early on (with the help of this forum ... I was in denial)......

But a friend came over tonight and asked if she was a roo because of how pretty she is......

So I needed to ask experts!! ....ours were supposed to be Americauna's too... we were duped as well...

IF you still want to get your hands on purebred Ameraucanas I was told by people who have and breed purebred ams to look for local breeders (and was directed to the ameraucana breeders club webpage which has listing of breeders by state). I guess there are only 8 recognized colors too (the ABC website has the accepted ones in the gallery). I've been working to educate myself because I really do want purebred ams when I can, I don't think I'll be getting them this year, but hopefully next spring if I can't this year.

I'm just hoping that when my girls start laying I come out with a more blue or blue green egg and not an olive or brown.
