Easter Egger Roosters?

When you open the back door, when he sees your shadow through the window, when my 3 little pullets (had 5 but 2 got into the alley and we've looked everywhere

), when a hen lays an egg, when a hen thinks about laying an egg, when he heards the mail truck???, that one amazes me.
My neighbors have a volleyball court in their backyard. He announces the arrival of anyone in their yard and they get a lot of people back there sometimes.

What's funny is now when it happens my Game crows to. He used to be just extra helpful like fluffing up the nest box and setting next to the hens while they laid. Now it's a contest. My Polish roo just looks at them like their nuts. He's a bachlor right now, so nothing to crow about I guess.

I have a beautiful ee roo that was an angel in the beginning. He's 8 months old now and is very aggressive toward people but perfect for his hens. He was never one to let you handle him, even at three days old. A definite touch me not.

I've had 3 EE roosters. My first was perfect...crowed only from about 7 to 7:30 each morning like clockwork. He was respectful of his girls (he only had 3) and would follow me around but always stayed a few feet away. He was never agressive towards anyone, including my children who were 7 and 4 at the time. He even died protecting his girls. We were devastated when we lost him.

My second attempt at keeping a rooster wasn't nearly as enjoyable. When I first got him he was quiet for a few days then when he had settled in a little, his crowing went on from about 2 am until about 6 am and after a month of that, it was constant. He also ran my hand-raised hens away from me constantly and eventually started running them out into the road. He had them so stressed out that they stopped laying for about a month, until I rehomed him. I'd had plans to have another local chicken keeper cull him and gave them the full explanation for my decision but they decided to keep him until he had the same effect on their flock.

I'm now on my third. He's from the first egg we got from our SLW after rehoming our last rooster. We hatched him in my son's kindergarten class in the spring and handled him all the time, hoping that we would have a tame rooster. He's now 4 months old and hasn't even attempted to crow yet. So far, he's quiet like his mum and I'm hoping that's a lasting trait. He is however, not so considerate when it comes to making sure the girls get to eat first and he bites and pulls flesh when he eats from my hands (the rest of my flock is very gentle when they eat from our hands). I'm trying to teach him not to by shouting "ouch!" And shooing him away when he does it but he doesn't get it. The only thing he has done is catch the attention of my newfoundland whom did not take kindly to my shouts. He'll be dog food if he keeps up this behavior. I'd like to give him the opportunity to outgrow his adolescent behavior but won't hesitate to cull him if I see no improvement within the next month or two.

It really does depend on the individual bird though. Being mixed breeds to begin with, there's no way to generalize their personality based on breed.
