Hi all, this is my nieces chicken that she is wondering about. I am passing along for your guesses.

How old is it?

She is guessing 14 weeks as she got it and its flockmate as clearance chicks so already with wing feathers.

I told her they are not the greatest pics for guesses but she says there is no salmon or red anywhere at all yet.

I think a cockerel at that age would have a bright red comb. The comb on her bird looks very pale, so I'd say it's a pullet.

I thought the comb said pullet too so that is good! lol I appreciate the response. I told her to try to get some better pics.

She's kind of big and hulking looking, so hard to see a pullet standing there, but I had one like that and she's just a big girl. You can look for saddle feathers coming in too. Part the feathers and see if there are little pointy boy saddles coming in, but I think it's a girl.

Yeah, she is in another state so I did tell her to look for the saddle feathers but she is pretty new to the whole chick thing haha.

The only thing that worries me is how fat the comb is. Hope she can get some new pics.
