Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Um, is it just me (maybe my computer) or is there a serious lack of blue/green on those legs? Are you sure it is an EE? I thought they always had blue/green legs. Those look pink to me.
EEs can come in many different colours. Legs do not have to be green/blue, but usually are if coming from a hatchery. I have some EEs that hatched and have yellow legs, but have every other EE aspect (pea comb, colouring, beard, etc).

This hatch was a mix with a dominant Golden Cuckoo Marans rooster and an EE rooster over EE and cuckoo Marans hens, to make some OEs. So there are some with the typical EE pea comb and green legs, but also various mixes of pea comb, straight comb, green legs, pink legs (some feathered) and even one with a black straight comb and black legs. :) but everyone has the EE beard, so should make an interesting egg basket. Couple posts back I put the link to picks of all of them if you want to see the wild variety of colors.

I have several EE's and I love them, they are so sweet and pretty. I just hatched out "Ameraucana" eggs and I'm pretty sure they are EE's too. I got the eggs off Ebay and the listing said "PURE" Blue & Wheaten Ameraucana. Some of their legs are looking a little green, so that is telling. They are awfully cute though!

Hey, my daughter just told me a friend of hers from college wrote a cute children's book about hatching chickens so I downloaded it to my Kindle Fire. It was wonderful and accurate! It's called Samantha Hatches the Chicken Egg by Daisy Griffin. If you have kids or grandkids, this is a great book to tell them about hatching eggs. Enjoy! oh yea, she also mentions BYC in the book!!!!

I've already downloaded that book (7/27/12) but i sent it to my 8 yr old's Kindle for PC.
I'll have to download it to my Kindle or Kindle for PC and read it myself.

Your pale yellow/white chick looks like my pure white EE did as a chick. For the longest time I thought they has mispacked my order because I already had another mystery chick. It didn't occur to me that EE's came in solid colors...LOL! Beautiful little chicks...I miss that age!
