Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I have one in question, too,,,and it looks just like yours! It came from the pullet bin.....I am concerned because it is stockier and more dense than the other female. It fights like all get out when you hold it....kicks it's legs really big time. It is only 4 weeks old and just isn't very sweet. Here he/she is. What do you think? I've never had a chick so mean...male or female!

Only 4 weeks old it's hard to tell. Looks like a pullet right now but I've seen birds that look like that turn into cockerels. Give her a few more weeks.

I think this 3 week old is a boy. The red coming in at the top of the shoulders from the top view concerns me. Do you all agree?
This chick looks very much like a girl to me. The red coming in is a rust color and not the bright red normally only seen on roos. It also appears to be coming in all over the wing and not just in the shoulder area. I had one girl like this and she keep me worrying for months! She lays a beautiful blue egg now. :)

Thanks. :) So you don't think the red spot (at the base of her neck) is too red? Not the rusty color spreading down her wings, but that spot of red at the top where the wings meet.

No, I wouldn't worry about that. What is a sure sign of a boy is BRIGHT red patches coming in on the shoulders (the parts of the wings nearest the head and neck). Of course, this is just my opinion and I could be totally wrong, so feel free to worry about it until she lays her first egg. :)

Yours looks a lot like mine at that aget, here it is about 4 weeks old and looking more and more pullet-ish! they turned 5 weeks old today and will post some new pics this evening, so maybe you can find some marks to look for on yours depending on what people say about mine.

Looks like two of mine as well. They haven't laid eggs yet (these pictures were just last week) but I feel pretty confident they are girls.
