Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

theparishfamily, I would say that is a boy.

It's been 2 weeks since I updated pics on my hopeful pullets.

Jade is 10 weeks, and Betty is probably 9 weeks. I'm pretty sure Jade is a girl, but just want to check.

I think Jade is a girl. But on the body language Betty is Bob. Head and tail high, challenging forthright gaze, watchful attentiveness to the female chickens around him. The wing color is not quite red enough to be a certainty of being a roo.

This is a great thread, but I am still having difficulty. This is Gloria (aka Scuttle) and Chiquita, both seven weeks old. Gloria has the white head and Chiquita has the black head. Do you agree that my pullets are pullets? Thanks in advance!

I see what you're saying, but I have always thought Betty was just frightened. The chick was added last to a flock of 3 other chicks when they were 4-5 weeks old, and was harassed by the others. Every time I go in the coop, Betty acts like what you see in the pics. She/he is always behind the others, or tries to duck and crawl under them.

Chickenluver555, they're pullets.

Lablover, I'm crossing my fingers for you on Betty. I haven't seen a pullet marked like that but then there isn't anything definitively cockerel about her yet either. If it's a boy, he's sloooooooow to develop.

debid, I know what you mean. The comb hasn't changed color in the past 2 weeks, nor has it grown. That would be a very slow developing boy. I rehomed 2 definite roos weeks ago, and their combs turned pink/red at 4-5 weeks. I do think the color would make a beautiful hen though....

Guess I'll keep updating pics.
