Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Boomhauer is still getting the cold shoulder from my ladies. Especially from Big Momma my silver pencil rock. She thinks he's evil lol.

My EE seem to hang together separate of the RSLs. The buffs and the BAs sort of range between the two. But the EE pullets definitely stick with th EE rooster, even though he is not acting rooish. He hasn't started crowing or mounting yet. The EE pullets are just starting to red up for laying. And the RSL Roo is soon to be stew. That should be his name until he goes to freezer camp - Stewie. Aside from the fact that he won't breed true, being an RSL, he also has crooked toes. Big dude though.

Do you think this is an EE or something else? Had 3 (though one died in transit) come in my "rare breed" assortment from Meyer.

Looking at rare breed chicks from Meyer, thinking buttercup. I have only had a few EEs, but none of my chicks had that spotting on their heads. Chipmunk markings, yes, but not that spotting.

Campines have that neat leopard spotting (but all over not just the head). This is my campine chick from 3 years ago. Maybe an ee from a Campine parent? EE's can look like anything, and the legs aren't exactly yellow or white, either.

That does look very much like a buttercup. Wait a few more days for its wings to start getting feathers, and if it looks like this pic then it is diffidently a Buttercup.
