The grey bird's comb is not pink at all.
The cream bird's comb, on the other hand, looks slightly pink. UGH!

Oh Elwood! You are one handsome fellow!
Thank you so much for posting these two up. I have been wondering what Buff Orpington X EE's would look like. He is precious! And I am now more excited than ever at the prospect of breeding my chosen EE rooster to our Buff and Black Orpington hens in the spring. That's ironic that you had only 2 roos hatch out of your eggs. We incubated 24 and got 6 to hatch. 5 of those were roos. Now I must just decide which one to keep and which ones to send back to my Aunt's.
How old is the bird? It's looking like a boy to me, but that's assuming it's around 7-8 weeks.
Butch was beautiful. I can see why you wanted another of him!

Quote: Even at 9-10 weeks, I'm still leaning toward cockerel. The comb looks like a (mostly) single comb and the wattles are fairly large for a pullet. The patchy coloring is more like a male's also.
Is this bird an EE? Doesn't look like it got many of the expected EE traits. Nice looking, though.
Just realized these are your first two posts. Welcome to BYC!![]()

I was told they were easter eggers but now I'm not sure the little grey is pure grey with no markings but its quite short where as this one was bigger. As a few days old this one was the biggest of the bunch n my grey was the smallest. I'm hoping for girls I can c any saddle feathers on this one so I'm still holding hopeEven at 9-10 weeks, I'm still leaning toward cockerel.
