How old is it? You won't usually see a comb like that on a pullet until they are laying (or very close). Unless it's close to 20 wks, it's probably a cockerel. Good looking bird.

Beautiful bird. I'm thinking cockerel, too, though. The bright wing patches and start of saddle feathers is suspicious. The body type is like a couple of my pullets/hens, though. I wouldn't chalk him/her off yet unless it starts crowing.
thanks. blue's body does seem somewhat different to oliver, a cockerel with rust on his wings who has already crowed...but compared to robin, who is smaller with a single comb and the same body shape, blue's tail is pretty big!Beautiful bird.
