Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I'm so used to people asking about sexing, I didn't read the question thoroughly!  Doh!     To me it looks like baby muffs growing in and not tufts, so I would expect this bird to have a tail.  I knew UK standard had tailed and rumpless Araucanas, but didn't know about the presence of tufts on the rumpless ones.  Is there any sign of a crest, sweetbeak?  In reality, so few people breed rigorously to a standard, that most of our birds would be considered non-standard (or crosses or mutts).  That's what EEs are all about!

Hi all, so here is my little girl at 20 weeks, still no comb and has a large beard and muffs (or tufts), I can never work it out. She's so timid but has started hanging around the nesting boxes the last few days. As I'm in Australia still unsure what she is, she hatched from a brown small egg.
Any ideas,

thanks,
Paul

She's pretty. Love the iridescent feathers! In the US she would be called an EE since she doesn't meet the standard for Ameraucana (or your Aussie Aracauna). Hatching from a brown egg means she's mixed. You're lucky to have such a pretty bird. Really curious to see what color egg she lays. With that pea comb, you have a chance for green!

If she came from the states, I'd call her an Easter Egger. A purebred would likely have hatched from a blue egg. She has the big cheeks/muffs, so it's possible she'll lay blue or greenish eggs for you. Mine calm down as they mature & start to lay.

She's beautiful!

hi there, no crest at all, just a pea like thing on her head.

Thanks, in the sun her feathers are a combination of green, purple and pure black. She is so beautiful but runs away when I get anywhere near her. Another chicken a rhode Island red who just started laying has completely calmed down. Fingers crossed I get blue or green eggs, I'll be sure to update.

Me again, ok so these two chicks hatched from green eggs sold to me as aurancuna, one is black and the other is turning a lavender colour. The 3rd chick was sold to me as a frizzle from a tiny brown egg, plus she is much smaller than the others, but no fuzzy feathers. They are only 3 weeks old. Sounds like I got sold EE's again, thoughts? Thanks everyone, it's difficult in Australia to recognize which breed is what.

Sweetbeak, the third chick looks like it has muffs so I'd say easter egger. It could have been from a frizzle crossed with an EE or araucana but the frizzle genetics either didn't pass along or don't show in it. Green eggs mean mixed heritage so EE's for the first two. All very pretty chicks!

This little guy turned out to be the handsome fella below.

His name is Falcon. He has the most beautiful shade of blue on his chest, muffs, and beard. He has also settled in with his ladies quite well. I am hoping to hatch eggs this year!
So far we have been able to keep him. He wears a collar so he doesn't crow too loudly and annoy the neighbors. He is an Ameraucana.
