What about this little chick? I have 9 I'm not sure I posted all of them. They are not easy to catch! Thank you for your thoughts! I appreciate all who has helped me! I'll re-post in a week. Today they are 4 weeks old. I have been watching them... The way they stand, act and coloring. Lots of red on chest and wings on the two yellow chicks.![]()

Sorry for the over load in pictures ! I had a hard time getting good pictures of the dark ones. Thanks for any thoughts !
I'm good with these three you posted being pullets. I'm hoping I have 1-2 more. I should be able to get rid of the cockerels easy! A flock of birds with influenza came across a Sonora county Placer County and took out 80 turkeys in less than 48 hours so the local feed store has shut down their chicken section. They have 1 million chickens and don't want to take any chances. You chicks are screwing with my "what traits make an EE a boy or girl" concept!
#3, those wings say boy but the hackle feathers are not pointy. In fact those feathers are more pointy on #1 and #2. I'm still going boy on #3 - red patches and lack of uniformity.
Comb on #4 is big but the feather pattern is very regular which would say girl.
I think I see small bits of read on #1 and more on #2.
If I hazard a guess - #1, 2 and 3 - boys, #4 girl
I could be argued out of #1 thoughand while there is a fair bit of red on #2, the patterning on the back isn't nearly as messy as #3 so I could be talked into girl there, maybe.
Girl
Girl
Girl
Agree that 3 & 4 are girls as well

I'm curious about this chick I'm getting mixed opinions. Mostly cockerel and of course the two I was really looking at seem to be males. Oh well I'm sure my OEG will go broody again .![]()

that's the same thing I thought. My first 4 looked like this chick and the yellow ones. 3/4 ended up hens.Reminds me of my old pullets feathering
