Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

My girl is an EE, she has the green/slate legs and lays blue/green eggs. I got her from McMurray. I did wonder at first if she wasn't one of the ones you mentioned since I got a mystery chick from the hatchery and she looked different and stood taller as a chick than my other EEs but she answered my question when she started laying.  Turns out my mystery chick was just another EE, which was an awesome because they are one of my favorite breeds, with Orpingtons being my other favorite. Such sweet personalities with both of the breeds!

If yours lays brown eggs maybe she is an EE that just lays brown eggs, I hear that happens sometimes, or she could be a cross? They do look like sisters though!
Wow very similar !i got pepper from a guy across town. She has skate legs. Lays cream smaller eggs. Not bantam but smaller then my EE's. I'm curious how long has she been laying before she went broody? She always been my mystery hen. Smaller, smart and head of pecking order ! Must have some of the same blood. Almost everything about them look alike . I'm going to see if I can find chick pic ? Do you have one?

Mine is a full size girl, my biggest of my 3 EE girls. She was born last May I believe and started laying in November, then went broody about a month ago. She isn't the top girl but she doesn't take crap either. I have some Delaware girls that are kind of B****s so they took the top since they start more crap. I wont be getting that breed again as I prefer sweet and laid back personalities. She is turning out to be an awesome mom though! Very sweet and patient with the chicks so far. :)

I thought I posted mine awhile ago, but don't see them. EE were first on my list for their unique eggs. (My daughter is almost 2 and I think it would be fun for her.. Plus.well really I loved it.) All 3 are supposed to be pullets.

EEs & Orps are my favs as well. The orps are for cuddling & giant eggs. The EEs have quirky, fun personalities plus the blue-green eggs. One of our EEs is the recipient of all the "dumb blonde" jokes. She's absolutely beautiful but can't find her way out of the coop some days. Another is fearless! She bullies our 100lb dogs, will take treats from strangers, and chases squirrels. (HATES squirrels!)

EEs are actually mixes rather than a breed, so there's a lot of variety in appearance & egg color. I think the mixing is great for their long-term health & egg production.

The 1st two look like girls. Can't tell with the 3rd. less feather development.

I just noticed Pru is getting some more red on the wings. Common or roo?
Still could go either way. Usually, you can't tell until they get their head feathers. Pullets get an orange-gold color, while males get more of a brick red. Of course, a lot more depends on what breeds went into your EE.

I guessed pullets for the other 2 b/c of the common feather pattern.
