Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I've been watching this thread, and it's been really really helpful with sexing my EE's. There are a couple I'm still not sure about though- they are now 6 weeks old.

White EE:

Hmm. The comb is small, but there are a lot of red patches coming in on it's back so it might be a cockerel.
Like junebuggena suggested, post some updated pics in a little while.

EE with red/brown head: (sorry it's blurry, just wanted to get comb color on there)

Looks like a cockerel.

Olive Egger (assuming most of the same rules still apply):

Leaning toward pullet.

Any thoughts?

This weeks installment of S/he/it..... LOL
9 weeks now and still baffling me. I really thought that I would have figured it out by now, but no. Still displaying both feminine and masculine traits...

my bunny
newly formed wing patches - but they are not solid colored ....

This shot just for comparison to my white and red birds. Because so many times I think to myself that the pictures make the bird look white.
Ignore the mess. Having the house painted this week.

Comb shot....

I guess I'll switch to every other week pictures unless there are dramatic changes.
Below is the shot of the feather pattern/new wing patches. Theya re both barred and laced, but the lacing is more prominent now than the barring. Interesting critter.

mine that is so similar is at 11 weeks (did you count right I thought we were closer than 2 weeks in age) and she had MUCH more red now, it is looking like it is trying to fill in as an overall pattern of more red as opposed to the barring they had when they were younger. Mine has only one row on the comb and not nearly as much color. I will send you a pic this weekend for comparison.

LMAO- You are right. It's 10 weeks now! I guess I skipped a week of updates somewhere. I think the most confusing thing is that the comb itself is still flesh colored, but the part covering the nostrils is rather pink. THe wing patches could easily be the new "sub adult" coloration showing through. Goodness, can we just skip ahead to 20 weeks and be done with this already? It's killing me. Between this one and my light brahma I think they stress me out more than my 3 kids. We need an easier method than just wait and see!

Ha I agree, though I have no doubts about my Brahmas the pullet and cockerel are sooooo obvious it is unmistakable. But I am just as stressed trying to figure out how to blend them with the big girls, Is your EE calm? my 2 are the most spastic flighty wackos. I am sorry I got them. The pic I just added is almost 2 weeks old.

10 weeks old? The comb is peachy-pullet colored. A cockerel would look raspberry colored by now, unless it was really s-l-o-o-o-o-w to develop. Overall, looks like a pullet to me. The fact that she isn't changing much supports that.

So 9 weeks here? Is it a pullet or are you still waiting?
My pullets calmed down significantly once they started laying. One is still spazzy though, and is at the bottom of the pecking order.

NewMarch- Bunny, the one I keep wondering about - she's not as flighty, but good lord the red one is spastic and so hard to catch. Bunny's not exactly super friendly, but doesn't scream like I'm killing it either. I really thought we spent enough time with then when they were little to avoid them acting this way, but apparently not. Now that they are outside all the time I will just have to win them over with treats, but I don't see the red one ever getting truly tame.
