Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Howdy all.
I know these guys are probably too young to tell yet (but to be honest I have no idea how old they are lol)

Maybe you guys could help. They are all super skiddish and don't like being held. I got these from the pullet bin at rk this year. I incubated this year and probably 80% of them turned out to be roosters so I'm hoping for good luck since I butcher 8 hens at the beginning of the month sigh

Anywho, here they are.

And if we can't tell gender yet (which I am cool with) can we tell age?

EmilyOfIndiana, they look to be around 4 weeks old. It's too soon to tell on gender, and difficult to see their coloring with the red light from their heat lamp. In general it looks like they all have pullet patterns, Irma and Myrtle have wide combs for their age but that isn't definitive. Watch for any red coming in on the shoulders.

Yeah I figured. They are hard to take pictures of because they run from me and throw tantrums. Completely different from my hatched ones which will hop on my back of I bend down to pick something up lol

Thanks for the age and I'll keep my fingers crossed for hens. I can't feed anymore cockerels

I think this is a pullet. She looks like my white EE that I got this year, who actually had a pinker comb at that age. Either way, comb is pretty small to be a boy.
Thanks! She's among the biggest from this hatch and since my pullets and cockerel are on the small side it would be really good news if it's a big pullet.

Here's an update on my white EE for comparison. Comb hasn't changed much in the last 6 weeks, she's 12 weeks now.

@Wishing4Wings I know they aren't EEs but you are so good at this. What do you think of these 9 week old Japanese bantam/silkies?

Well, I might have been good sexing the Japanese bantams, with their large, lovely, unambiguous single combs, but you mixed them with Silkies!!!!

The first one strikes me as a pullet, but it's more about the slender legs than anything. Second one, not sure at all. What's hiding under the crest?

Any updates on your questionable EEs?

I'll get some better pics when we get back from vacation. Those were 5aken at a distance on zoom. I think all my EEs are pullets except the one roo with the 3 pea comb. The other one I thought was a roo is the one that disappeared.
