Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Was wondering if you guys would take the time and help me determining the sex with my chicks. These top 2 are 4-5 weeks, and the last one is 3-4 weeks.

This one by coloring I'm saying roo,

Hoping this one is hen:

Hoping this one is a hen also. Though she may be too young to determine. She's 3-4 weeks

Your first suspect is indeed a cockerel. His comb is a good example of a male chick's comb.

I can't see the second chick's comb well, so if you compare them, a pullet will have a single raised ridge down the center. Her coloring looks pullet so far, but without comb for confirmation, it's just a guess. Probably pullet.

Last one is a bit young to be sure, but so far no obvious cockerel signs. Comb looks to be a single ridge, but that can change in the next couple of weeks. Probably pullet.

Yes the second chick does have only a single row down the middle, that and the fact no red on the wings and shoulder made me think she was a pullet. Guess we will see for sure when they get older. Thank you for your input. :)

what do yall think these are?

Oh my! Husband and I were in the backyard this morning and heard a loud, clear "cockadoodledoo" (or "kokekokoooo" according to the Man) coming from THIS 14 week old fellow. No more doubt about his "manhood"!

are you talking about Kalan's hen? Go to her original post and click on the top pic, the 2nd and 3rd rows are coming in.

Look at post 9730 near top of page and it shows what 3 rows of peas looks like. I don't like to tell someone they have a cockerel until it is clearly one because some get rid of them too soon and later find they gave away a beautiful pullet. I have EEs and most pullets have a few peas to the sides of their single row. I only reply based on my own experienes with chicken breeds and crosses that I have.

You're guesses look right to me. A comb like the first has only presented that young on my cockerels.

Iflyonhorses; I have the exact same bird but it is a hen and white legs. I know she is crossed with EE and I guess red sexlink but white legs???? Then I don't know chicken genetics. Can anyone tell me why white legs?

Way too early to tell sex of EEs. I have 13 week olds that I''m still not sure about. EEs are mixed breeds so white legs come from parents. They are a dominant trait. Mine have some BO genes so I have a few with white legs.
