Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Again, all have the same big red rooster daddy, the red one has the EE mom (shown partially here, also on my lap), then obviously a barred rock mom, and the black one is from my gold laced wyandotte. I suspect the black one is a female and the rest are males, but mostly because of the tail differences.
They're about 6 weeks old.
Any advice appreciated!

I think I would be worried about the barred and the red one, not based on tail but comb. My EEs didn't show anything but puny and not colored combs until they were almost ready to lay. But I don't know what the red dad would throw into the mix as for timing of comb development. And I agree with Leah, they sure look older than 6 weeks. Especially if that is mama at the top.

But unfortunately I discovered orangish shoulder patches coming in on my blue/gold EE today. 6 weeks. Comb is still very flat and yellow. Could it just be her coloring or is this almost certainly the sign of a cockeral? Her pattern has been so girly up until now!?!?!

I don't know, it doesn't look (on my computer) like the crimson red that showed on boys in earlier posts. More of a rusty red. But then, someone posted an egg picture that sure looked purple on my computer but he said it was brown when I asked.

Thanks for the input, I do hope it is just her coloring but a bit suspicious that it is only coming in on the shoulders. Color is pretty accurate at least on my screen. An orange/rust color.

That is not the characteristic red color, give her time and more of those feathers will pop up. I had a hen like that too.

Thanks for the input - I think the barred is a boy, too. They all hatched the sunday after thanksgiving, so maybe they're 7 or 8 weeks?

This one may be hard to tell male or female. It is a mix of frizzle EE/and maybe polish? . Just started getting the crest yesterday. Also looks like it might have muffs, Any guesses. Looks like a pea comb.

Well.... it's either a boy or a girl!

Very cute little fluffer! How old?

I thought I knew who this chick came from but is that a rose comb or a pea comb? The only hen I have with a rose comb is a Gold Laced Wyandotte which would have been crossed with an EE roo. I thought it was a Lavender Ameraucana and Blue Copper Marans cross. Any ideas?

This is a Lav Ameraucana and Blue Copper Marans. Roo?

It does look like a rose comb. But I would have suspected the same cross as you by looking at those pictures

. I could be an odd modified comb between the pea/straight comb but chances are its your GLW hen and EE roos. What color is the EE rooster?
