Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Does size difference mean anything? My two "girls" are substantially different in size. But, since they are essentially "mutts," couldn't one be mixed with a larger breed and one with a smaller size?

Exactly. I have one built like a Leghorn and one much more stout -- both obviously female by patterning. It happens.

Where are your pictures?

I need to take a few pictures to post but it looks like you guys were right and Izzy is definitely a pullet :) what a relief!
The red splotches on her shoulders have now spread to a nice even pattern on her entire back and around to her chest which is a deep mahogany. She now has a big fluffy white bottom and a very pretty lacing along her wings and back. No crowing, still a small comb and not getting any redder. Now I am just hoping for colorful eggs!

And kind of planning what breed I want next lol.

Hi! I have read various info on sexing easter eggers. I'm new to chickens and I'm having difficulty grasping feather pattern sexing. My chicks are just over 6 weeks and one has a more pronounced comb and developed dark pink wattles today. Will someone point out why you think pullet or roo when looking at these pictures? The patterns look too similar to me. Maybe they're both pullets? Thank you!

Califarmgirl, the one with the overhead shot in the third picture is a pullet. Can you get a shot like that of the other one? Preferably with good lighting. That one appears to have a less even pattern but I can't see the back well enough to say if there are red bars coming in.
