She/He could be a rooster. Comb is redish at a young age. Just saying...don't be too surprised when it starts crowing. Wing feathers on the shoulders are dark red too. Just my opinion.

S/he does have a more developed comb than the other two I got along with it. But I have not seen any sigh of three rows.She/He could be a rooster. Comb is redish at a young age. Looks like a red pullet to me. Give him/her a few more weeks and then look and see if the pointed hackle and saddle feathers have developed.
My guess is that it's a rooster. In the first picture, you can see the tall stance and wide/high shoulders, very different from the hen next to him. In addition, the tail feathers are growing long and curvy. I would be surprised if it turned out to be a hen.
The feathering looks henlike to me, but I think s/he's just one of those birds where it's just super hard to tell until you get the hackle/saddle feathers proving one way or the other. I had one that had every sign pointing to hen and she turned out to be a roo with a single comb smaller than the other roos in the same hatch and everything.
Thanks, Kathryn P. I'm still hoping its a her and will keep an eye on the hackle/saddle feathers for definite confirmation. The feathering looks henlike to me, but I think s/he's just one of those birds where it's just super hard to tell until you get the hackle/saddle feathers proving one way or the other. I'm leaning that way too, polarbearpilot. Seems everyday it looks more and more Roo, and the 1 row to the comb was really throwing me off. ThanksMy guess is that it's a rooster. As for the 1 row comb, my rooster has only 1 row, too.

Can any of these be sexed??
Most black and white EE chicks turn out to be male so the odds aren't good for the top 3 being girls. The top one especially looks like my Roo when he was 5 wks. Still too young to be sure either way though.
