Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

Here are some full body shots of Lilly/ Willy. This chick is the smallest and thinnest chick. I was actually worried about it for a couple weeks, the others are much heftier. He/she is much more high strung than the others, and seems to be feathering a bit slower. I can take more/better photos if needed. I really appreciate the help! I already have a big english orp guy, he is a bit selfish with the hens though, he may not be around for much longer. What are EE roosters generally like?

Updated pics, hopefully these are a little better. The one on my shoulder is the friendliest, so I'm hoping that she is a pullet!

Ellie says hi!! ;)

Serenity, looks like Willy to me! My EE cockerel had a comb like that where he first got a lot of definition to the center row of peas, the outer rows followed later. He ended up with a tall 3-row pea comb.

EE roosters are all individuals so there is no telling whether he'll stay nice or get overly aggressive. The herding thing he does is a good rooster behavior so fingers crossed he's a keeper!

Linzkel, shoulder percher is a pullet. Bare wing patches is almkst certainly a cockerel. Not sure yet on the other one. May need a couple more weeks of monitoring for comb changes.

Thanks for the help! I was hoping the middle one wasn't a roo, should I be concerned that he has bare shoulders? This is my first time with chicks so I'm learning as I go.

No, he's just slower to feather than the others. What is there is thus far looking like a very typical b/w cockerel pattern. He'll probably get some brick red soon.

I'd wait a bit longer. It does not look rooish to me at this point, although both slow feathering and herding are typically male characteristics.

Anyone want to take a stab at this one - s/he's completely all white, no buff lacing leaking through. 8 weeks old.

The body picture is awful and not very helpful, but no long tail feathers (it's early for that, I know)

Pinkish comb...

This one most likely a boy. Very pretty colors.

I think it's a pullet. Love your avatar. My hubs would love a giant chicken!
