Wait a couple weeks and post more pics. This chick has a lot of feathering out to do still
2.5 weeks is too young. Wait a few more weeks and post a few pictures so we can help you.I am questioning the gender of my easter egger chick, which I ordered as a female. It is about 2.5 weeks old now, but the tail feathers semi-fan out in a vertical fashion versus parallel to the ground. This chick also stands taller and is larger than the other chicks (although the rest are of different breeds). I know it may be a tad too early to actually confirm my chick as a cockerel, but thought I'd ask since I am worried. I would include a picture, but I don't have my camera with me at the moment. I can add a picture later. Is this in any way a sign that I have a young cockerel in my flock? I hope not, since I don't want to have to re-home any of my babies.
Thank you very much!
The two at the feeder are both cockerels, based on the size of their combs. Couldn't tell if you had any others, but do a comb comparison with these two, and if the comb is as prominent as these, you can be pretty sure of a cockerel..Best picts I could get without crawling into the dog pen with them! LOL Next time I move them, I'll get ahold of them for close ups.
(Guessing)2 roos at the bottom, pullet at the top in this photo.
....see if you can tell anything from this picts for me. Need to try to take roos to sale/swap soon All EE's,,,,,9 weeks
she has a pretty cute little pea comb and her father was an easter egger. Mother was a "buff" which I don't think helps. People have called her a buff Colombia color, but her body type isn't like anything I've ever really seen?I don't think this is an Orpington, at least not pure. Wrong shape and there is quite a bit of blue in the feathers. What type of comb does she have? Orps have single combs which I think would be more visible at her age. Maybe just a pretty barnyard mix. Can you ask about possible parentage from where ever you got her?

In the pullet cage i see 2 that may be boys. The 2 in the upper left corner. White and black usually means cockerel (i know there are exceptionsI read through a lot of these pages before posting and I think I have called them right (with one exception). I have a friend wanting to buy a couple of pullets from me tomorrow and I'd like to be sure. Mind helping me?
These are the ones I think are the pullets, agree?
My one doubt is this one....it doesn't have the obvious splashes of red/brown that another one does but doesn't quite look like a hen, either.
Also, I've never had a black & white EE hen, is this one?
