You are correct that hens will also jump and raise their hackles at each other to determine pecking order. The chick you have pictured I suspect is a roo based on the large comb, but I would give it some more time :)

Roos can't have a salmon breast. I am not sure if that's what color it is but I'm guessing g

Roos can't have a salmon breast. So if that's what you meant it would have to be a pullet.

:idunno Does the salmon have to be just on the breast?  I'm seeing lots of salmon coloring coming in on the other two black/white chicks.  Wow, they are really growing too!!

A salmon breast is a sex linked characteristic like red shoulders. A hen won't have red shoulders unless she is all red, and a roo won't have a salmon breast unless he is all salmon lol.

Here's some new pics of our guys/gals. Pretty sure of all but the b/w fella and the gold fella are girls. The b/w fella just acts way too different (also have 2 other definite roosters in with him) and the gold one seems to be getting patchy on the wings. Thoughts? Pullet #1

The black and white one looks like a pullet to me.

The white and black one is the only roo, all others are pullets.
