Oh good...heres hoping lol. They are just starting to pink up.I'd say yes to both. They still have some growing to do, but chances are good for blue shell genes.

Thanks Milliefleur! I'll update you all with pictures in a couple of weeks, I just needed to give the processing lady a number (I said five, but I guess we'll see), won't be done until middle of September when they're about 17 weeks, gotta get 'em done before the crowing starts this time, but hopefully they'll still be a good size & we're not really up for doing it ourselves.
Here is one of my 7.5 week old EEs for your perusal.
Triscuit:
The only comb shot I could get- that partridge rock is 2 weeks older than the EE.
Not a good comb shot at all, but you can kind of see how the other EE in the back has a noticeably smaller comb.
There are six chicks total in this group I am raising, and they are all starting to get hints of pink in their combs. (One is a Buckeye and one is a Legbar, definite pullet.) Since the one in question only has the slightest bit more pink than the others, I think there might still be a little room for hope. The EEs were vent sexed by the hatchery. But Triscuit's colors are getting so gorgeous, that I fear s/he must be a roo.
Also, I noticed that the feathers at the base of the tail on Triscuit are quite long and curved. But they are rounded, not pointy. I had an Olive Egger pullet do the same thing, which worried me, but by the time the rest of her filled in, those saddle feathers were not long any more. So I am only 50% worried about Triscuit's long saddle feathers, since they are quite round.
After ordering and raising 5 hen chicks, we think one is a rooster after all. Anyone care to confirm?
