That is true, there is no such breed as an "Americauna" but Ameraucana do exist

And, the order shipment form that they sent me, as well as the packing slip both said Ameraucana. The first two we got from Cal Ranch, from a bin marked Americana, or something like that, don't really remember as I was brand new to chickens at the time and easily impressed. When ordering from a hatchery, one would hope they know what they are doing in naming their inventory, but, I'm not naive about that either. Either way, we'll get colored eggs.

You are not guaranteed to get colored eggs from an Easter Egger. They might lay a blue or green egg, but they could also lay a white, cream or brown egg.

Any idea as to what gender my 7 week EE is? I'm thinking pullet.

Hmm... I'm leaning toward cockerel on this one. It's looking much too red to be a pullet.

I think it's a cockerel. The dark red is just starting to come in on the wings and that comb is pretty well developed for 7 weeks old.

Thanks for the help. I'm kind of hoping that it is going to be a cockerel. I just hope that if it is one its not aggressive.

I think it is a girl. Sure it may be patchy now, but I have an EE pullet at 18 weeks who looked just Like that at that age. The red evened all out. From the best picture I saw of the comb, it looked like a single row. I am pretty sure that is a girl.

Here's my baby again, at 7 weeks now. The comb is more flushed because I'm holding it, but I am leaning towards boy that will be one pullet out of my hatch of 8.

@Rea17 I don't know. For the breed it seems to be, I would expect to see some red on the wings. But that might not be the case, it probably actually isn't that type, but I don't know for sure. Going by the comb, my phone isn't the best with pictures, so it is difficult to tell the number of rows. It seems pretty red that makes me lean towards male. I am sorry I wasn't much help. I hope someone else says something.
