Keep looking at the combs if they turn deep red and get red waddles its a rooster. If the combs stay pink and are smaller then its the hen. Males also have bigger legs. They are thicker looking then the hens. Pointed feathers compared to the female where hers are rounder on the ends. Males usually stand taller more should I say upright looking. I hope this gives you something to judge them by and helps just a little.Phew! They are 5 weeks old.

Is there anyone who thinks this might be a pullet? (I think I'm just in denial cause this one is a favourite! Lol)
I'm not sure which one you're asking about but a picture of the whole bird in question and its age helps.
From what you're showing, I don't see anything screaming cockerel on the close one, the patterning is iffy on the far one.
I am still leaning toward female even with the black throat area.....every other one of my roosters purchased with her have plenty of identifiable male specific feathers, granted none of them are EE (d'Uccle, Polish and Wyandotte) but she literally has nothing but color that is suspect. Her comb is the same shade as every other pullet, her legs are smaller than 1/2 the pullets, every new feather in the saddle area comes in short and blunt (though deceptive because the outer portion is practically see through). She "acts" like a pullet, I know that is not really a reliable indicator but it is just another piece of her puzzle. I am anxiously awaiting to see if my rooster radar is as reliable as I think it is (so far I have a 100% success rate of guessing the roosters by 1 month old.) Odds say that I must be wrong about her since everyone gets fooled at some point haha. How old is he/she now? I'm still on the fence with this one. I think you won't know for sure until the saddle feathers (or lack of saddle feathers) start coming in.
I would say HEN she has rounded off feathers and I cant see much red in her comb and no waddle just yet. So my guess is she's a hen. Lets see what others say. I don't know the breed just learning how to tell if they are male or female right now. What do you guy think, Wellsumer Roo, or EE Pullet/Roo?
So there was a mix up by the hatchery, which they have been great about addressing, though it will mean a second small batch of chicks to introduce to the flock.
We ordered 2 SSussex pullets, 4 Wellsumer pulletss, 1 Wellsumer Cockerel, and 3 EE Pullets among the 21 chicks we ordered.
We got 6 s.sussex, and 2 EE pullets and I thought this one might have been the wellsumer roo, but I don't think he is a roo, and maybe she's the missing EE. But I think she is soooo pretty, whatever she is.
