Easter Egger Sexing "tips and tricks" *Pictures Included*

I've got three who are 8 weeks old at this point. Any guesses? I've got no experience... course I just hope they are all pullets!

This is Petrie. If anyone is a roo this one would be our guess. Seems a bit more aggressive and by far the biggest of the bunch.

Xena, such a sweetie. I love this bird. Really hope she's a girl.

And Doc, my little crossbeak chicken. Doc is smaller than everyone, but has feathered out nicely and other than being way behind in the growth department seems to act happy.

If you need different photos let me know and I can try to snap some from a different angle. Would love to hear any thoughts though!

I see 3 pullets. All have classic pullet coloring and small pale combs. And Petrie looks identical to my girl Echo! (At least when she was that age.)

Woohoo! I'm not sure how we lucked out. I bought 5 chicks straight run and for the last couple weeks felt they were all girls although did have my doubts with Petrie. What did your Echo end up looking like? They are all so different and beautiful at this age.

My husband keeps insisting that Princess Beyonce (The name comes from the show Raising Hope) is a rooster... which we can't have. Anyone want to put this rumor to rest? (Please!) I am pretty fond of her

It's much too early to guess. Try waiting until ''it'' is about 6-8 weeks old -- that's the best time frame to be sure. :)

I posted this in the wrong place i guess...no replies. https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/newestpost/658684

Can anyone give advice on the sex of these two? Hoping for hens- like everyone else it seems. Also, does anyone think annie [the white one] will develop any other colors?

Annie [~4 weeks]

Mystery scratch on the nose in this one...

Hemingway [~2weeks]

I am really new to chickens so i don't know if their behavior is any clue but they are housed together and when I let them out to forage in the expen they will flap their wings & fly at one another- like rosters in a cockfight- and they seem to argue a bit and even though Hemi is is much smaller than annie, s/he holds her own.

Umm no, I'm not. As I said I am new. I bought them at the local farm swap from a lady (who i think is here) and she said they were ee x silkie [I think that is why annie has a pouf on her head??] Hemi has 5 toes on one foot and they both have a little feathering on their legs. I think they seem small but my other chickens are 6-7 month old buff orpingtons so they are comparatively huge.

are you sure either of those is an EE?

Annie & Hemi are a silkie mix chicken. Gender unknown, they will both have be older. They will most likely stay bantam sized because of the silkie cross in them. You won't be able to tell gender using EE techniques because they are both showing lots of silkie traits.
