I'm brand new to this. A "friend" brought 12 chicks to my house as a surprise for my 3 year old. I'm trying to figure out breeds. Is an EE a breed or a specific cross?

An EE is a mixed breed bird that has some Ameraucana, or Araucana in it's make-up. They usually have pea combs, muffs, beards, and slate or willow legs, and can lay blue, green, or brown eggs. They can be almost any color, but are usually friendly and good layers. They are one of my favorite 'breeds'
They are some of the most discussed chickens on here, so if you do a search, you'll find tons of information.
