Easter Eggers ~ Americana ~What Factors =What Colored Eggs~ Post Yours

I have 5 "EE's". 2 of them have very full "beards" and slate legs. The others have green legs and 1 has no beard at all. Are the 2 with beards real Ameraucanas? I bought them from ideal and they were all sold as Ameraucanas but of course that's not the case.

Trisha, I think all of what Ideal sells are Easter Eggers. You probably lucked out and got a couple that were closer to the Ameraucana standard, at least in leg color and beard fullness. There are only particular colors that are accepted in the Ameraucana standard, though, and rarely do Ideal's birds match that.

I was wondering the same thing. Mine have big ol' beards and slate legs. I don't know if your hens look like mine but mine just did not look like most of the EE's I had seen online. I got some great info on this thread!! (Mine are EE's...there are pics at the link above)

Congrats on the eggs by the way!!!!! Mine are at 17...almost 18 weeks...I can't wait!!!

Yeah my 2 that look like they might have been ameraucanas look like your Moe except their beards aren't as dark. I guess they're all EE's, that's fine. I'm not planning on breeding ameraucanas or anything so it's not important to me.

OMG I've been waiting to post here,lol.
Yesterday I got the most beautiful BLUE egg.
Her ear lobes are white & with a little red.I don't know what color you would call her legs or her comb??
