Easter Egger's First Egg!

Whooohooo...laying an egg is always a miracle! May you have many many more. My Easter Eggers were always the most reliable layers. They are a great breed.

I have a black EE which used to lay greenblue colour too. Her daddy was a lavender araucana (not rumpless, we don't have rumpless in Australia) and her mummy was a Partridge patterned cross breed. She laid many green blue eggs and hatch a good healthy clutch earlier this year. He daughter also lays green blue and looks much the same, but the original black EE has now progressed from a pea comb to a standard multipoint comb and no longer is laying blue green eggs, hust a light tint cream on white. I know combed birds never or rarely lay green eggs, so as there are two lots of genes operating, has anyone ever heard of the gene for bluegreen eggs being deactivated?
