Easter Eggers have green or slate legs, right?

A lot of people do not know the difference for sure. My great aunt spent a lot of time argueing with me about her feed store purchased flock. She is now looking at catalogues I have had sent to her and has asked the feed store she purchased them where they order their chicks and now believes that all of her chickens are EE's. The feed store told her that they were Araucana's when she bought them.

It's all a matter of Education.

Over the past month I have fallen in LOVE with Ameraucanas and their BLUE eggs. As a kid we had Easter Eggers that laid green eggs and we always called them Easter Eggers or "Green Egg" layers.

Thank you for the compliment. They are nice birds to be sure but I hope to improve upon them.

I haven't shipped started birds. I will have to check into that a bit more. When you say "started", about what age were you thinking or are you just referring to "started" as in started laying.

My birds started laying this past year just 1 day shy of 25 weeks. The problem with shipping a bird that old is water. The only way I could see it being done is Overnight Express or something and I imagine it would be pretty costly.

God Bless,
