Easter Eggers-What breeds do YOU prefer to cross your Ameraucanas with?

I bred my black Silkie & got 2 black roosters, twice the size of the silky. We locked up the silky and and put in two Icelander roos, and got 12 multi-color, varied chickens. all colors, and all descriptions. We gave the Icelander roos away, and , now have beautiful chickens; not laying, yet. Not sure of two, "maybe" hens.

Are your chickens laying yet? what color are the eggs if so? Thanks

Thanks so much for this info. I know this is an older post but I am just starting out with crossing my Ameraucana roosters with other breeds so this is so helpful to me

I have an Easter Egger that lays pretty blue eggs:
400

Her eggs were fertilized by my Splash Maran Roo. Would anyone know what color eggs their offspring will produce?
Thank you for your help!

We had a broody hatch 2 Easter Egger / Spitzhauben cross chicks. They are 4 weeks old. Love the look so far, and I really don't care about egg color too much. I just like funky looking chickens. Easter Egger hens and my Spitz roo "Molly". We also have a Cuckoo Marans over Easter Egger, Pretty bird, but pretty sure it's a roo...appears to be 3 rows of peas. This same hatch also gave me a Light Brahma / Spitzhauben cross. Can't tell yet what sex it may be. Comb so small it's almost non existent!

Will try to get picks soon...issues with usb

.

Just set 13 EE eggs, and 3 Light Brahma, and a few random brown eggs from red or black sex links under some broody Marans.

Oh, how cool that I stumbled on this thread (tee hee hee, new genetic info to play with) LOL

If anyone can answer my questions, that would be awesome:

(1) I have a first generation cross between a blue Ameraucana and a Blue Splash Marans. The pullet is blue splash in color. If I cross her with my Wheaten Ameraucana, what feather colors can I expect from the chicks. Am I correct in assuming half the eggs should be blue and the other half olive?

(2) two of my pullets from the blue Ameraucana x Blue Splash Marans cross look very different.... why? The first one has a lot of well defined splash markings throughout it's whole body while the other one has a sort of light gray dusty look with a few blue splash markings. The second one also has a light blue head.

(3) Wheaten Ameraucana x white leghorn = 100% light blue eggs? Also, the resulting birds will be mostly white with red leakage, right?

(4) Wheaten Ameraucana x Welsummer = green spotted eggs? what color birds might I get from that cross?

(5) super blue eggs???? please explain.

Thanks! :D
