Maybe this will tempt you w/ the Meyers EE's here are some pics.

The color is a little washed out from the sun, the ones that look brown are really a light olive green and the ones that look white are really blue and blue green, they are darker in person than this pic shows.

Thanks,I have 6 total and really like them.I bought 5 roos at the same time and all of them were red, white and blue.I kept the one with the best body but after he was a year old he decided I was not allowed to be with them anymore.I tried to work it out but I just didn't have time to feed using only one hand while I held a 5 gal. bucket with my other hand to block his attacks.

I took him to my neighbor's house and told him to dress him out.He said he knew someone that might want him for breeding.I never can remember to ask what happened to him.

I got Cackle's catalog and had planned an order this spring for more EE's but when I bought rabbit feed the other day they had a brochure where I could special order from a nice selection of chicken breeds that will come from Mt Healthy Hatchery. It will save me a lot of money to go this way plus I will know the ship date where as with Cackle it was like a long time after my order before I got an email saying they would be shipped.

I think when you order chicks it the luck of the draw as to colors and so on.I hope I like Mt Healthy's EE's as well as I like these.I live in town in with a small place so I can't have all the chickens I want, darnit.

Yes, they are the only chickens, first chickens we have. They started laying in mid Jan. We didn't even have a laying box, b/c all the info on here we didn't think they would start laying until mid march maybe even later.

Everyone else thanks I really love nature photography, and since getting the girls they have become my photo "fix" when I can't get out to get any others.!!!

Kassaundra, your photos are really, really good! What kind of camera are you using?

The girls are very cute. Out of my flock, I think my EE is my favorite hen. Unfortunately she lays a pinkish egg (no blue gene) but makes up for the color with legitimate jumbo eggs. Very friendly. She came from Welps.

I use a Nikon D60 and I love it, I would highly recommend nikon to anyone. You can be lazy and put it in auto mode and make it a simple point and shoot, or you can get as technical as you would like.
