Good Evening,
I have 4 Easter Egger chicks.
How do you know whether they are Roos or pullets?
I have attached photos of 2 of them.
Thanks

:welcome They will have to be older for gender ID. Where did you get them? They may not be Easter Eggers.
My Friend hatching chickens, I believe 3 are EEs and one Orpington but I am no expert on breeds so happy for your thoughts

This thread gives some info on how you might be able to sex chicks. By 5 weeks you can sex a lot of them with some assurance of being right but each one is different. Some show those signs more than others. I had one that was 16 weeks before I was sure of sex. It turned out to be a slow developing boy. On a very few I can tell hours after hatch by posture and attitude but they are not usually that easy.

If you can take individual photos at 5 weeks with one close-up of the head showing combs and wattles, if they have any, and a separate photo showing legs, posture, and body conformation we might be able to make some pretty good guesses.

:welcome Glad to have you join us.

This will be interesting to me as I have no idea about determining sex of a chick.

I've had chickens for four years now.

There is so much to learn and I need to learn a lot more
