easter eggs and packing peanuts

I ordered Araucuna from Murray McMurray- what I got I realize are Easter Eggers. Beautiful, all different colors...w/blue legs.

They also sent some "packing peanuts" These roosters are large white/buff colored with a few mottled spots here and there. I can take pictures if needed.

I assumed that they would send Roos that are of the same variety as the chicks i ordered ( EE) But the roos legs are Yellow and Not blue..does this make them something else? Or do EE Roos have yellow legs?

From what I understand after talking with someone at Murray Mcmurray, the extras they send are random breeds mostly cockerels but really whatever they don't have orders for. I guess the joy is in the mystery

When did you receive your order? If you still have the packing box, McMurrays indicates on the inside of the lid what they add for packing peanuts. Mine said "Red Star Males have been added for warmth" Mine are now 7 weeks old and sound like you are describing - they started out a very soft yellow with white wing feathers coming in. Half of them have dark red speckles/blotches/streaks in the wings, the other half are nearly all white with a hint of light buff/bronze color on their backs and necks.

It sounds like they could be Ideal's White Leghorn males, but a picture would help a lot.

I'm thinking I might have gotten a couple roos instead of pullets though too, by mistake. I understand they have a sexing guarentee- not sure. I might have to look into that.
