Found this this morning :

This is probably from our BO which i mentioned in this thread:

https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=319645

Is the second time this BO has presented this to us.
Of course very early stage in laying eggs etc.
Is this considered "normal", should i be worried ?

beginner and curious

It's just the shell she'll be fine. If she doesn't lay for a while I'd make sure she wasn't eggbound though.

Yes, it's next to their normal food. I haven't actually seen them eating it though.
I might mix some of it through their normal food. that might help.

The other chicken (brahma) never layed either softshell or membrane egg (is there an "official" word for this ?)

I would try beefing up your calcium with crushed limestone fine (the gritty dusty stuff) and yogurt. Oyster shell is okay but it isn't the best source of calcium, just the cheapest and easiest. It's true in people too!

We just happened to have bought yoghurt yesterday, we already found out they like that stuff. Will feed them some yoghurt. Thanks for your response
