Eastern Iowa Poultry Association Annual Show, November 29-30

I don't have any buffs to bring to trade or sale but I did read that there is a big Orpington show going on at the show so I am sure there will be several there. I really would like to get a blue or two myself.

When are you going to be there? I've never been and my hubby is bailing out on me to go to an auction. He is just as tired of hearing me talk about chickens as much as I'm tired of him talking about buying cows!

We will be there around 8 am to ? It's the 1st time we have ever been either. I saw over on an Orp. Assoc. website that they are having a huge show there so I am thinking it is like when I used to show dogs and they would have specialties along with the regular shows.

The boys and I went to the show site yesterday and helped out for a bit with the set up. Such nice people running the show and the work that goes into the set up is not easy, just to have to take it all down again! We cooped in at 4:30, many other exhibitors were cooping at the same time.

I hope to see you all there. Please don't be shy!

ETA: Have had five babies survive the hatch so far! One did not make it.

Ask me, and I'll show their first baby pics!

i didn't get much. nothing exciting to talk about anyway. bought a pair of black cochins and a female snowy call duck.

can't wait till sedalia in the spring!!

What a great show! Met some of the people who are regular posters here, and even one who "lurks".

The poultry quality was great, and the winning birds were truly superior. One of the best shows I've attended.

Hope to see all of you next year, and also hope that many of you who didn't attend will consider coming out and showing some of your birds.

Mine didn't win anything, but I learned a lot about what to concentrate on for next year.

I plan on going again next year maybe even doing one elsewhere. Much easier on the nerves than the dog shows. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Came home with 2 more chickens and more serama eggs:p Better go check the chicken in the stove yummy. Don't worry it is neither of my boys, they are looking for pretty girls. Having a hard time finding buff chantecler girls.

I was able to meet a couple of fellow byc'ers. Jhm47 hope you were able to dr. your bird up.. I know he was is good hands. Sorry I didn't have more time to chat.. Seems it's that way at the poultry shows.

And little miss I am gonna win the whole raffle table way to go!!

I did ok considering the huge molt going on. I got a RV with my white cochin cock. And got a BB on my Ameracauna hen, who went on to get reserve AOSB. And turkey Tom also got reserve.
And my husband pulled out a BV on his Large fowl Rose comb Rhode Island.

That was our last show of the year. Everybody gets a break including me

Hope to see you all next year.
