Eastern Panhandle WV (MD, VA, PA) Chickenstock -July10th Gower's Feed

Ohh Kelpie are yours standard or bantam? What colors?

They're all standard. Colors are random and could be mixed because I didn't pen my birds this spring. I have goldens, a trio of fantastic BBRs, and one white hen so they could be a combo of those. Only $5 a pair. I normally charge $30/pair if these are my top BBRs but they are mixed.

I'll definitely have to look you up tomorrow! I have a male phoenix,, dont know if hes bantam or standard and he needs some lady friends

Whew I finally made it home with all my new babies

Thanks sooooo much for setting up this chickenstock, I had a great time talking to everyone and found some awesome new additions to my chicken family!

Here is what I came home with....

A Mottled d'Uccle pair (I hope) and a Blue Marans pullet from peachick

A Wheaten Marans pullet from berkeleysprings?

A Black Copper Marans pullet from nursecat9

A Lav/Split Black Orp pullet from Soaring Chicks (I think)

A Buckeye pullet from Erin (MsBear)

& A Splash Cochin chick maybe from Fourgirlsoneboy?

Sorry if I got any of the names wrong, I am terrible about asking who is who!

Then I discovered the Feed store had chicks too!!!

In there I got.....
1 Welsummer chick
2 Silver Laced and 2 Gold Laced Polish (LF)
4 Guineas (One has dark brown stripes (maybe a Pearl) and 3 are Coral Blues or Lavenders)

Thanks to everyone who brought so many cool varieties! I am so excited to have found so many breeds/colors that I didn't have, but have wanted! I shopped til hubby wouldn't give me any more money....he said I was cut off LoL I think I about emptied his pockets

I'm so happy to have 10 less chickens! I thought I was going to have to bring my little cockerel home, I couldn't even give him away. Then I was walking to my car with him and a little girl who couldn't be more than 4 or 5 thought he was cute and her mom let her have him. Awesome ending!

I felt so sorry for the little guy all alone with the free sign in front of him, I was so tempted to take him, but I didn't have any girl to put him with and I already have 20+ roos. I kept turning around and hubby was like No, keep walking lol. He knows me too well!

I am glad the little girl saw him....thats a Karma/Fate kind of thing...too cool!

So nice to meet some new people and put names with faces...and awesome to catch up with those I already knew!
This was definitely the best yet!

I came home with just 4 birds...and on the way home, a couple I met called me and asked if they could come to my house to get more. So I think the grand total sold today was between 90 and 100! I now I have more room, and was able to meet some great people!
Guess it's time to fire up the bator again with more BCM's! (I really do have a problem!!)
Thank you everyone and God Bless!

Oh.. Kelpie! What an awesome ending indeed. Deb made him sound so sad... just sittin there behind his free sign

I had a couple of those too. One lady with a petting zoo took 4

and one young guy about 15 took a rosecomb cockerel I really liked but, just do not have the room. I kept watching him staring at that roo and chatting with his little girlfriend about how pretty he was. His mother was like, "get em get em" and he just kept looking. I grabbed the bull by the horns, snatched up the little roo and demanded he give him a good hold to see if he felt right

done deal! Turns out he just got his first hen of random bantam girls and was thinking of adding a roo. . how perfect!

It was so nice seeing everyone. Gosh, I really feel like you all are my good friends now. We are all creating this fun history together. Much love, girls

I had a great day and I do agree with Cathy. This one was the best one yet. We may have to have our Fall one here too. I unloaded about 50 chickens, did not sell our coop and still came home with a wad full of cash and plenty of empty coop space for all those eggies in my bator. I think we all share the same problem!!

Chat with you soon!!

Oh, Kat. wouldn't this be your luck! As soon as you left, the zoolady , who took all my cockerels, was on the hunt for phoenix, peafowl and sebastapols

We took 10 and sold 9. Sold out of the poultry nipples that I could afford to let go of. (We are totally redoing water delivery here.) I really wish that the little D'Anvers roo had found someone to go home with, but I'll keep looking. He's a sweet little guy.

We got a pair of OEG and a turkey poult who is getting special attention from my youngest daughter. We reactivated the canary cage in the living room as turkey space. LOL.

Many thanks to MsBear for organizing, Linda at Gower Feed for doing the blood testing, and Gower for hosting us!
