I will make it to the show this time. So I can get this stuff. I hate to ask but what is permethrin spray, and Oxine used for?

Anyone that is looking oxine, I found a great deal on it.
EggCartons.com back ordered even though the website showed "in stock" when I ordered.

I found a better buy at revivalanimal.com that beat EggCartons special.
I ordered 4 gal. ($19.99/gal) with shipping only $14.99 to upstate SC.
They shipped the day I ordered (last Friday).

The case got to Kennesaw Ga this morning. Fedex managed to destroy it as it was leaving their terminal.
Revival shipped me another case out today. Great service IMO.

Are you still looking for one? I have a brown tabby girl that is 1.5 yrs old & fixed. She is an amazing mouser, moler, what have you

She is indoor/outdoor right now but is better suited to outdoor which is why we're trying to find her a new home. She has a great personality too. If you want a 2 for 1 I have her brother here... they share the meals she catches, lol. He's mostly outdoor too. Someone dropped them when they were kittens and we have raised them since. We have a baby due in March, so we're cutting back on animals where possible.

I love Knoxville, the only thing is I wouldn't live IN Knoxville, I used to but I've enjoyed living 30 minutes from it for some time now. I hate the drive but once I'm home I feel better about being in the country. There are no restrictions for livestock in my area, that I know of... I have neighbors, but they're not in my backyard if you know what I mean

(which is why my Hubby refuses to live in any neighborhood, he hates having neighbors next to him) He was raised in the back woods though most his life and just doesn't suit his fancy I guess. We have 7.4 acres for sale as well, but it's def country out here and not a lot of people can get over the eye sores that is the neighbors, that and it's buildingless.. so we've had trouble selling it... lol

we would keep it but can't afford it if we want to get a house...

which is at the top of our wish list right now, though we'd probably stay on the acre we're on and just build or buy a modular home.

If you're not wanting to move into knoxville city proper, you might consider Norris... nice little mayberry town about 15-20 minutes north of knoxville. For a small town it has a lot going for it. Loads of sidewalks, hiking/biking trails, state parks, fishing, etc. In the past couple years they have started up a farmers market and a few other community events like concerts on the commons during the summer. Of course you'd want to live just outside the city limits because they aren't too keen on the whole backyard poultry movement atm.

I lived in Knoxville for 25+ yrs now I truly love living in the country sometimes I don't necessarily like the 45 minute drive to k-town for work I wouldn't trade it for anything. We have 28+ acres mostly wooded, with 3.5 acres cleared. My neighbors keep a lookout for us we them but they are not so close as being in your back door. You do have to consolidate your trips but you learn real quick how to plan for your day. This is a very rural area no doubt jobs not being real easy to find that is a down part. Healthcare in the major hospitals is really pretty good UT just got their magnet status which from my understanding is not easy to obtain.
You really have to weigh what is more important to you outlying rural with some museums, art galleries, shopping. Any of those things if you live out is at least a 40 min drive to it. For the 1st year it took some adjustment to there isn't a grocery store around the corner I was used to 3 large grocery stores in 5 min drive from where I lived.Everything was less than 15 min away.Learning some back roads not on gps takes some getting used to as well. lol.

I'm in Norris and have more than forty chickens. You just have to have more than four acres to be zoned as a farm.

I love it here. Good schools and great neighbors. My next door neighbor asked me to cut a hole on the fence between our property so the birds could free range over there and they'd get to enjoy them too.

I'd say that property prices are more reasonable than normal since nothing is moving right now.

I could list all sorts of things I like about it but here's the web site.

I'm in Loudon, west of Knoxville,........little teeny town but still close to everything else. Not terribly rural, but has its places. I live in a rural residential neighborhood, most lots are just around 1 acres, up to 10-20 acres with larger cow pastures bordering the ends.

I don't know what the animal rules are here. But my next door neighbor had 17 dogs, my neighbor across the road has horses/cows/donkeys/sheep/pigs/chickens. Neighbors next to them had cows and a BULL.

My horse used to be boarded at a big farm out in Sweetwater. Some really gorgeous land out there.
