I posted a few days back that I was going to update some pics but you know how it goes.....life gets in the way. I will break this up into several posts because it will be pic heavy. I half-cleaned my main coop today & cleaned my blue orps bachelor pad. As much as I want to get him a better house built its just not happened yet.

I will start with pics of the babies I got from Tennesseeckn. They are doing great. They are still eating like pigs and are a great deal more vocal than the last chicks I had (if you follow my posts you know those did not do well). I think the larger blue one has a crooked toe but it looks better than it did. I am not going to go to any extremes about the toe maybe it will grow out of it or not.

BTW they have been moved to a larger box. We got a washing machine box at Lowes and cut it down some & added a plexiglass window.

I am going to put the other pictures in the folder on my profile page (I do not want to be a pic hog)

Here's my oldest blue Orpington cockerel. He was hatched in March/April. He is still in the temporary bachelor pad. Maybe one day we will get a better one built. He is doing really well. I treated for the lice & they are gone (some dried up eggs still stuck to feather shafts) but its clearing up & not spreading. I also did follow up treatment & cleaned his house.

Finally here are the two white ones. I am still holding out hope at least one is a pullet. Very doubtful but when all you have is hope I say hang on to it. If I can keep them straight I am going to post pics & pics of the hen I think they came from.

Left A & Right B

This is A:

His rump feathers

Here's B:

And this is Mom (I think):

If you have any guesses this time I appreciate it. The chicks are about 15 weeks old. I do not usually go by the spur development at this age but they have the same little bumps. I can usually tell by this time on chicks but since I have never had any hatch from my mutts before I am having trouble. Thanks for looking & I appreciate all comments/guesses.

Why is he still a bachelor? He's a big bird, looking for love...
Maybe I could start a chicken dating site, you know for those lonely bachelors... well... most would end up in the stew pot for being mean, guess I'd be a bad match-maker!

He is a bachelor because if I turned him in with the others he would be labeled a Pedophile

I have 2 pullets about his age & 3 younger ones in the pen. I am afraid he would hurt the smaller ones. You know how those teenagers are!

A & B both look like roosters to me...

Edited to add: I think the best way to tell is for someone to see them in person... I can't tell much from the photos... they may be both pullets, but it's hard with that breed to tell.
